Kathmandu City

The biggest and the capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu, also has two sister cities Lalitpur and Bhaktapur. The city is located at the height of 1,400 meters and is surrounded by Shivapuri, Phulchowki, Nagarjun and Chandragiri, the four main mountains around Nepal.

It is the only well developed urban city of Nepal. Hence it is the one of the most favorite tourist’s spot of Nepal. The crazy traffic, its old narrow streets, its Durbar Square gives you a completely new and unique experience. The greenery and the surrounding all over give you the breathtaking, mesmerizing view.

The religion followed in Nepal is Hinduism, so one will also come across the famous temples in Kathmandu. Pashupatinath and Swayambhunath are the most famous shrines of Lord Shiva and Lord Buddha respectively. Kaasthamandap is another famous shrine made of wood. If you are an art lover, there are many museums and art galleries in Kathmandu. The art in Kathmandu is vibrant. It is the mixture of traditional and modern art. Gambling in Nepal is legalized; hence one will find good number of casinos.
